Stuart McCloskey, April 2025 “Simply sublime and drinks like a very expensive Burgundy (Meursault) – I kid you not. What a stunner… The bouquet is infused with confit lemon, waxy lemon rind, wet stones (packed with minerals), florals, wild honey, buttered pastry, popcorn, and baker’s almond paste. Akin to taking a crisp, morning walk through an apple and pear orchard – wildflowers scattered amongst the trees.  The palate takes sublime to the next level. The texture / the palate feel is beguiling – layers of satin sheets cover every facet. It is super rare to find a wine that delivers such power, such concentration, gloss and viscosity, whilst retaining perfect balance along with a high degree of elegance. Effortless equilibrium at its very best… The buttered orchard fruits balance the tongue-tingling minerality. I love the toasty edge to the wine. A smidgeon of fresh vanilla and confit lemon sets in mid-palate. There are more layers of flavour and texture than there is the time to write them all down. The length goes-on for minutes. Save to say, this is an epic Chardonnay. A bold, commanding masterpiece that defies the price. This is purring beautifully but certainly has the structure to age for a further 5+ years however, purely as an experiment as I am not convinced this can improve. Served using Zalto Burgundy glassware (a big bottomed glass is essential). Not decanted. Do not kill your experience by overchilling."

19 / 20 Points - Raymond Chan Wine Reviews “Bright, even, pale straw-yellow. The nose is voluminous with a lifted bouquet packed with citrus, stonefruit, popcorn, roasted almond and flint. Medium-bodied aromas of lemon sherbet and peach flow with crunchy acidity, unveiling subtle layers of popcorn, roasted almond, flint and delicate spice. The mouthfeel is silky with powdery-textured phenolics, and the crisp acidity cleanses and glides with delicate spice and buttery nuances to a long, fresh closing. This Chardonnay has an appealing bouquet, delicate layers and crisp acidity. Match with grilled prawns with pineapple salsa over the next 7+ years. Fruit from Bridge Pa, Omahu and Magatahi vineyards, handpicked, whole bunch pressed, barrique fermented to 14% alc, aged on lees.”
