Stuart McCloskey, tasted 7 August 2026 "Sensational quality and, as we have come to expect from HRB Chardonnay, there is plenty of pedigree here. The bouquet is beautifully expressive, opening with white peach, nectarine and crisp apple before fresh ginger, lemongrass and kaffir lime emerge, along with warm bread, a touch of struck flint and a wonderfully fresh, saline minerality.
The palate is expansive and immensely satisfying. Ripe stone fruit and citrus are carried by bright, energetic acidity, while a subtle phenolic grip provides shape and tension. There is richness, but nothing feels heavy or overstated - everything flows beautifully. Toasty complexity and a gentle creaminess sit behind the fruit, with that mineral, saline character returning on the long, mouthwatering finish.
A superb Chardonnay with bags of flavour and character. Moreish, beautifully balanced. A super wine to enjoy today however, it has all the qualities to last another 5-years. Served using Zalto Burgundy stemware."
