Stuart McCloskey 6 January 2026 “Fermoy’s take on Pouilly-Fumé with the addition of Semillon (the ’25 has a smidgeon of Chardonnay in the mix too). Super wine and packed with character. I love it. The nose exudes all the classical hallmarks – expressive but not overdone.  Roasted cashew, smoke, flint, wet stones, toasty elements intertwine with passionfruit, blackcurrant, capsicum, white pepper, coriander seed, and a rasp of citrus zest. Very nicely done… The palate provides layers of texture, pleasing weightiness and interest – long in flavour, too. There’s a presence which is often missing from many Sauvignon Blancs. Super smooth (noticeably so). Flavours are built around minerals, a steeliness, grapefruit, lemongrass, a little smoke and spice, which carries on for minutes. Salt too. Pristine and a joy to keep sipping on. Really delicious. Buy now and come back in the summer to enjoy. Drink now to 2030. Served using Zalto universal stemware.”


Winepilot, April 2025 “Who doesn’t like Sauvignon Blanc with a little ooomf? A herbal and savoury nose of split straw, cumquat, prickly pear, and flint—gives way to a feeling of knowing, yet, still guessing. As interest in classic Margaret River SB and SBS wanes, the rise of Fumé-style seems like a natural progression for the region. And when done well—it excites me! Fumé translates to smoked or smoke-flavour, and this wine is true to its name. Camp-oven peach cobbler, coriander seed, lime zest, coastal succulents, and fresh pear. The wine sees 100% barrel-fermented and is matured for nine months in French oak, adding texture, structure, and soft spices. Great length. Good palate weight. The acid is crunchy, and the wine finishes with a comforting phenolic cocoon and the reminiscence of smoky gum leaves.”
