Cirillo Vincent Grenache 2025
- Australia
- Grenache
- ABV 13.8
- Zalto Denk'Art Bordeaux Glass
Stuart McCloskey, tasted 29 July 2026 “I prefer The Vincent served with a gentle chill, where its perfume seems to leap from the glass. There's an irresistible medley of Amaro bitters, a soupçon of blood orange, ripe raspberry, sweet cherry and wild strawberry, all wrapped in glorious, heady aromatics with just a whisper of exotic spice. It is wonderfully expressive without ever becoming overblown.
The palate is everything I love about modern Barossa Grenache. Svelte, energetic and beautifully composed, it glides effortlessly across the palate with silky tannins, succulent red berry fruits and a freshness that brings remarkable precision and vitality. The purity of fruit is captivating, yet there is enough savoury nuance and gentle spice to keep every sip engaging.
I happily join the long queue of believers. Few Australian reds deliver so much sheer drinking pleasure for the money. Enjoy it now or cellar for five years and watch its silky, savoury complexity continue to unfold.”
Named after Marco's father, Vincent, this is far more than an introduction to the Cirillo range. Sourced primarily from two magnificent Grenache vineyards planted in 1901 and 1906 on the deep sandy soils of the Barossa Valley, The Vincent also benefits from declassified fruit originating from the estate's celebrated 1848 Ancestor Vine Grenache vineyard, adding another layer of complexity and pedigree.
Fermented naturally in traditional open fermenters before maturing in a combination of seasoned oak and stainless steel, the wine remains unfined and unfiltered, preserving both purity and texture. It captures everything that has made old-vine Barossa Grenache one of Australia's most exciting wine styles: fragrant red fruits, subtle spice, silky tannins and an effortless sense of balance. It is approachable in its youth, yet carries a sophistication that comfortably exceeds its place within the range.
When you consider the pedigree of the vineyards, the inclusion of declassified fruit from one of the world's most historic Grenache sites and the quality in the glass, it's difficult to think of another Australian Grenache that offers so much for so little.
Quite simply, Australia's most ludicrously well-priced Grenache. That isn't just our opinion. Dave Brookes (Halliday.com) "Is this the best value red wine in Australia?" Ned Goodwin MW described it as "among the best value wines yet tasted this year." Erin Larkin concluded that it "really overdelivers for the price point," while Max Allen included it in his Top 20 Drinks of 2023, calling it "outstanding value."
