Cirillo Single Vineyard Shiraz 2025

Stuart McCloskey, tasted 30 July 2026 “The outstanding 2025 Barossa vintage has produced a Shiraz of remarkable purity and one that is jam packed with aromatics and flavour. Rather than chasing sheer weight or power, Marco has crafted a wine that celebrates perfume, balance and vineyard expression (very much the DNA of all of Marco’s wines). Fragrant aromas of black cherry, plum, and blackberry rise effortlessly from the glass, intertwined with violets, cracked black pepper, star anise and subtle hints of graphite, cocoa nib and warm earth.

The palate is beautifully proportioned, with vibrant dark fruit framed by silky, fine-grained tannins and a seam of fresh natural acidity that carries the wine to an impressively long, harmonious finish. Oak remains firmly in the background, allowing the quality of the fruit and the character of the vintage to shine. While immensely enjoyable upon release, the balance, structure and effortless elegance suggest this will continue to evolve gracefully over the next 8-10-years.

I served both wines in a Zalto Burgundy stem, which beautifully accentuated their glorious aromatics and allowed each wine's perfume and complexity to unfold with remarkable clarity. By comparison, both appeared noticeably more restrained in the Zalto Universal, with less aromatic lift and nuance.”
